Sector desk
Follow three to five named companies inside one of eleven sectors. Read what they publish. Once every three weeks, write 250–400 words that make one point. Friday 18:00 deadline in your publishing week.
Editorial team
Make three or four desks publishable every week: structure, sourcing, plain English, nothing that reads as advice. Sunday 20:00. You also put the notes on the site and keep the glossary growing.
Quarterly team
Four times a year, turn twelve weeks of coverage into one long read. Suits someone who cannot commit weekly but can give intense work at the end of a term.
What you need
Not a finance degree.
Nothing here requires prior finance experience. It requires that you can read a company's own announcements rather than someone else's summary of them, and that you are willing to write a sentence you can defend. Engineers, scientists, economists, medics and managers all have a desk where their degree is the edge.
You commit for a term at a time, not indefinitely. Exam periods are off — tell your editor in advance and your desk covers you. If it isn't working for you, say so at the end of term and hand your companies over cleanly.
What you get
A byline and a record.
A named byline — name, degree, university — on a public site anyone can link to. A term of notes on companies you genuinely follow, which is what interviewers are really asking about. A CV line that means something: Semiconductors Analyst, Meridian62.
